Dr. LaShon Sawyer runs a clinical private practice, Sage Insight, Communication & Therapeutic Services. She serves a range of mental health populations while specializing in serving adults conquering and managing stressors associated with depression, anxiety, grief/loss, racial trauma and other forms of traumas.
Dr. LaShon holds the highest clinical license available in her discipline, licensed independent social worker with supervision privileges (LISW-S).
Dr. LaShon received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Wright State University.
She also holds a master of science degree in Social Administration from Case Western Reserve University
She also completed her Ph.D. in Community Safety with a specialization in Criminal Justice at Capella University. She focused on the long-term negative impacts of collateral sanctions on returning citizens.

Advocacy
Dr. LaShon has a deep passion for social justice issues and advocating for inclusion and racial equity. She seeks to create clinical spaces that promote psychological safety, opportunities for authentic self-expression and discovery. When she is not providing clinical services, she is a co-chair of Racism is a Public Health Crisis Coalition for the City of Cleveland, Ohio.
She is also a current Aspen Institute Leadership Academy Facilitator for the 2023 cohort examining workforce development and leadership through a racial equity lens. Dr. LaShon is also a long-standing and proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
